It’s obvious that there are people who are not concerned but today more than ever before, there is an increased interest in vegan and cruelty-free makeup and skincare products.

Belif is not cruelty-free. Belif is a cosmetics brand that develops and sells a range of well-known products that are available in many parts of the world. Although it’s is a popular cosmetic brand, however, it’s not cruelty-free.

Belif is one of the brands owned by LG. The cosmetic brand has chosen to follow testing policies that include animal testing similar to its parent company LG. The brand states that they don’t conduct any testing on animals both pre-production as well as during production for product development purposes. However, the company consents to animal tests when required by law. 

The brand Belif states that as an international company they aim to supply their products to their customers where ever they are located. However, some nations where the products are sold still require animal testing. Belif, therefore, has to abide by the laws to prove that their final products and the ingredients used in making them are safe for humans.

Is Belif sold in China?

Yes, Belif is sold in China. The brand is not cruelty-free and pays for animal testing a requirement for the products to be sold in Mainland China. The nation still requires all cosmetic brands sold in physical stores in the country to participate in post-production animal testing.

Belif just like the parent company LG has been submitting and paying for their products to be tested on animals so as to be allowed to sell in Mainland China. The company agrees to the testing so as to abide by the mandatory registration requirements.

Some brands operate using animal testing policies that are different from those of their parent companies. An example is Simple which is cruelty-free but its parent company Unilever is not.

Belif is vegan. As far as I could tell, Belif is vegan. The brand combines Korean Skincare and herbal ingredients to develop their products.

The brand’s specialty since the organization began has been producing products with an all-natural approach.  

The company is heavily committed to developing products without the use of any synthetic preservatives, dyes, mineral oils, or fragrances.

The company used different ingredients including raspberry, chickweed, wild indigo, and oats to develop their vegan products.

Belif is not PETA certified. The brand Belif tests on animals and is therefore not PETA certified. Now you have the answer to is Belif cruelty-free?

Sometimes it can be difficult to identify whether a brand is a cruelty- free. The language some of the brands use on the product label as well as the website can be confusing. Sometimes brands use words such as “not tested on animals” or cruelty-free”.

However, even though they don’t conduct any animal testing on their own some brands pay third parties to do it for them. While others use ingredients from suppliers who conduct tests on animals.

The most common type of animal cruelty happens after development because many of the brands agree to post-production-testing. The brands agree because they want to access large markets such as Mainland China. This is the case with this Korean brand, Belif.

One of the ways of knowing whether a company is cruelty-free is checking the PETA website for the list of brands that have been confirmed as cruelty-free. Sometimes, companies that are cruelty-free certified have the logo on their websites as well as on some of their products.

Belif develops vegan products but that doesn’t automatically mean that the brand is cruelty-free. The vegan products are tested on animals in some markets. Before the brand expanded to sell in Mainland China, it was considered cruelty-free. This explains why the brand was included in some cruelty-free lists. The brand lost its cruelty-free status when they started selling in China and paying for the testing.
